Chelsea complete £30m move for Dewsbury-Hall as Leicester seek ‘separate deal’ to sign Blues star

Premier League giants Chelsea have signed midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall from the promoted side Leicester City for around £30m.

The 25-year-old has signed a six-year contract at Stamford Bridge and is reunited with ChelseaThe club’s new boss Enzo Maresca, after they worked together last season.

This deal sees the Foxes lose one of their best players, but will also significantly aid their attempts to remain within the Premier League’s profitability and sustainability rules.

The rate for Dewsbury-Hall is recorded as net income, as the midfielder came through the youth ranks at the King Power Stadium.

He made 120 appearances for the Foxes, scoring 17 goals, 12 of which came last season as the club won promotion to the Premier League.

He wrote on Instagram: “Well what can I say? What a journey it has been. 17 years of my life devoted to this club and it has been a pleasure. I have loved every minute of my time at this football club and have created some memories and friendships that I will never forget.

“When we were relegated in the 22/23 season, I felt personally responsible for my part in that.

“I set myself the target of making sure we returned to the Premier League in the first season as I know how devastating it can be for a club if we don’t.

“I’m very proud of what we achieved together last season – creating lifelong memories for us all. But more than that, I hope we can right the wrongs of that relegation season.”

Leicester are interested in signing Chelsea’s Michael Golding in a separate deal, the PA news agency understands.
