Aston Villa in and out as 2024 summer transfer window deals ramp up

It’s certainly going to be a busy summer for Aston Villa, both in terms of new players and new additions to the current squad.

Villa had a requirement to ensure they met the Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR), so they sold Douglas Luiz for around £42m to Juventus to balance their books before the end of last month. This followed the sales of Tim Iroegbunam to Everton for up to £13m and Omari Kellyman to Chelsea for £19m, while French midfielder Morgan Sanson triggered a permanent move to Nice last season.

Villa have also signed young striker Lewis Dobbin from Everton, and they welcome Kosta Nedeljkovic to the club after completing his signing in the January transfer window. Another more curious deal involved striker Cameron Archer, who the club sold to Sheffield United last summer, returning for a fee lower than the one Villa earned following the Blades’ relegation.

Ian Maatsen and Ross Barkley are also out, while Enzo Barrenechea and Samuel Iling-Junior have joined them in a separate deal to the one that saw Luiz join Juventus.

We will keep this page updated as each deal, both inbound and outbound, involving Villa is completed throughout the summer.
