Chelsea sign Dewsbury-Hall from Leicester for around £30m | Transfer window

Chelsea have signed Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall from Leicester for a fee of around £30m. The 25-year-old has agreed a six-year deal at Stamford Bridge and has been reunited with Enzo Maresca, having worked with the Italian at the King Power Stadium last season.

The transfer will significantly aid Leicester’s attempts to remain within the division’s profitability and sustainability (PSR) rules. The fee is recorded as pure profit, as Dewsbury-Hall came through the ranks at Leicester. He made 120 appearances for the club, scoring 17 goals, 12 of which came as they won immediate promotion back to the top flight.

“What a journey it has been – 17 years of my life devoted to this club and it has been a pleasure. I have loved every minute of my time at this football club and have created some memories and friendships that I will never forget,” Dewsbury-Hall wrote on Instagram.

“When we were relegated in the 22-23 season, I felt personally responsible for my part in that. I made it my goal to make sure we got back into the Premier League in the first season as I know how devastating a position it can be for a club if that doesn’t happen.

“I’m very proud of what we achieved together last season – creating lifelong memories for us all. But more than that, I hope we can right the wrongs of that relegation season.”
