ME London’s Radio Rooftop Bar Reopens With a Modern Asian Twist

11º July 2024

ME London’s Radio Rooftop Bar has officially reopened its doors, following an extensive £2.5 million refurbishment. Situated on the Strand, the luxury lifestyle hotel is celebrating a decade of innovation by unveiling the newly renovated 10º– a ground floor venue for a mix of modern Asian cuisine, sophisticated international entertainment and breathtaking views of the London skyline. The refurbishment, led by internationally acclaimed restaurant designer Bernard Caroll, marks a new era for the iconic bar, enhancing its appeal with a contemporary, Eastern-inspired aesthetic.

Radio Rooftop Bar’s complete renovation has transformed the space into a sophisticated yet subtly playful environment. The redesign features custom coral reef wallpaper by Adam Ellis Studio, plush furnishings in natural desert tones, warm oak wood fixtures, marble surfaces, brushed brass finishes and exotic dried palm trees. Taking centre stage is a stunning backlit onyx cocktail bar, designed to echo ME London’s exterior structure and featuring an Asian-influenced drinks menu under the supervision of Senior General Manager, Daniel Susko.

Guests can expect an extensive selection of premium Japanese spirits, an exclusive range of sake and shochu, and a wide range of wines from leading international producers as well as emerging Japanese vineyards. The bar is also reintroducing sonic technology to enhance tonic water drinks in collaboration with The House of Suntory, and will feature signature cocktails crafted using sous vide technology for maximum flavour.

Executive Chef Federico Crisafulli, whose background includes roles at the Italian Embassy in Tokyo and Michelin-starred establishments, leads the kitchen. The food offering includes dishes such as Maldon Oysters with spicy red yuzu sauce, Japanese Wagyu A5 LoinIt is Black cod with citrus miso. Desserts and a variety of sharing menus complement the dining experience, all with the stunning backdrop of the London skyline, now more visible thanks to new seating arrangements and an all-weather structure.

The Radio Rooftop Bar’s rich heritage, dating back to the venue’s use for the BBC’s first broadcast in 1922, continues to influence its atmosphere with live music from internationally acclaimed DJs and artists.
