Liverpool’s Alisson Becker plan revealed as double transfer targeted

Liverpool are prepared to sign two goalkeepers in the summer transfer window to provide Alisson Becker with much-needed reinforcement, according to reports.

A clean sweep in this department is already underway, with Adrian rejecting a new contract offer to return to Spain and join Real Betis.

Meanwhile, Caoimhin Kelleher is likely to leave, having expressed his desire to be the first-choice goalkeeper – a status he is unlikely to achieve at Anfield while Alisson is at the club and performing at a high level.

While a move to Nottingham Forest appears to be off the cards following Carlos Miguel’s arrival at the City Ground, Football Insider claims Liverpool will look to sign a replacement should the Republic of Ireland international leave.

Interestingly, although the report claims that the Reds would be looking to sign a couple of goalkeepers to provide cover and competition for Alisson, they may only need to sign one, and that’s thanks to the emergence of Vitezslav Jaros.

The Czech international enjoyed an impressive second half of the 2023/24 season, having been loaned to Sturm Graz to aid their development and cemented himself as one of the division’s best goalkeepers by helping his loan club win a league and a cup.

Now, according to James Pearce of The Athletic, Liverpool will replace Adrian with the 22-year-old.

“With Adrian’s departure, Liverpool are looking to promote young goalkeeper Vitezslav Jaros to Arne Slot’s squad,” Pearce wrote.

As Jaros joined Liverpool’s academy from Slavia Prague in 2017, he qualifies as a homegrown player, which is perfectly fine with Premier League and UEFA Champions League registration rules for next season.

Effectively, the Reds already have their third goalkeeping option in place, so they should only require one signing in that department, on condition that Kelleher seeks new horizons.
