Plans submitted to convert Glasgow city centre office space into flats

Plans have been submitted to Glasgow City Council seeking to convert upper floor office space in the city centre into flats.

The change of use is proposed for 114 Union Street, beside the historic Egyptian Halls, across from Central Station.

Under the plans, thirteen flats would be created comprising of a mixture of one and two-bedroom units, reGlasgow reports.

A supporting statement submitted with the application explains: “As the existing building is located within a conservation area, it is important to retain as many original features on the facades as possible.

“The red sandstone building stands out on Union Street with its ornate carvings and details. The only change being proposed to the front facade is the replacement of the windows.”
