Glasgow architecture firm set for liquidation

Glasgow-based Hoskins Architects is to appoint a liquidator after ceasing to operate in the UK.

A statement explained that the decision was made “as a result of project delays combined with a lack of liquidity from a major client and the significant six-figure debt owed to Gareth Hoskins Architects by that party.”

Hoskins Architects Group is not affected by these developments and its German subsidiary, Hoskins Planungs, will continue to focus on projects in German-speaking countries.

Hoskins Architects Group has announced that the directors of its UK trading subsidiary, Gareth Hoskins Architects, are in the process of appointing a liquidator.

“We would like to thank all of our employees, clients, partners and collaborators in the Glasgow office for their many years of loyalty and trust,” the statement concluded.

The practice was set up by Gareth Hoskins in 1998. He died suddenly eight years ago and the firm has been trading as Hoskins Architects since 2015.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended September 30, 2023, the company employed 34 staff.

The company made a loss after tax of £58,900 during the period, having posted a loss of £213,000 in 2022.
