Club well aware of Nottingham Forest’s interest in signing – Approach now made

On Wednesday, Sportitalia journalist Gianluigi Longari stated that Nottingham Forest’s interest in Jaka Bijol is “heating up”. He also reported that the Premier League side have made contact with the Udinese player this summer.

Nottingham Forest’s interest in the defender is backed by Messaggero Veneto, who then provide further information on the case.

There are claims that the Reds and VfB Stuttgart are the latest to approach the Serie A side for the 25-year-old.

Bologna, Atalanta and VfL Wolfsburg have all shown interest in the player, and they join Nottingham Forest and the Bundesliga side in the race to secure his services.

Udinese are well aware that Nottingham Forest and other clubs are in line to sign the Slovenian international. The report adds that they have set an asking price of €17m and have also started looking in the market for the defender’s replacement.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side would have to compete with others to sign the player who shone for his country at the Euros. It is unclear whether Bijol would be in favour of a move to Nottingham Forest.

Bijol’s contract runs until 2027 and he made 24 appearances for Udinese last season.
