This is when trendy London chain Pizza Pilgrims will open in Cardiff – and they’ll be giving away free food

Popular London chain Pizza Pilgrims is opening its first Welsh branch in Cardiff this summer. The pizzeria will open on the High Street, close to Cardiff Castle and in the former RBS bank building, and to celebrate ahead of its opening, they’ll be giving away 1,000 free pizza slices.

Pizza Pilgrims will open in Cardiff on Friday 16th August and they will be giving away pizzas on Monday 5th August. Pizza will be available on a first come, first served basis from 12pm and they will also be giving away free Welsh cakes.

Since 2012, Pizza Pilgrims has become renowned for its signature Neapolitan-style pizza and quirky cult favourites in London and beyond. Variations on much-loved classics and standout ‘authentically inauthentic’ options are the order of the day, including the extra-extra margherita, which is everything you want from a classic margarita but with added piennolo tomatoes, a whole creamy burrata and fresh basil pesto, and the carbonara pizza, which is topped with guanciale, pecorino, egg yolk and finished with strands of al dente pasta, for a less traditional take on the iconic pasta dish.

The interior will feature colorful tiles, a bar reminiscent of a beach shop, a unique speedboat booth table and a sparkling water fountain, all centered around Pizza Pilgrims’ giant pizza oven to complete the Italian coastal impression.
