Newcastle’s Claremont Teahouse combines teas and movies with new cinema space – Newcastle Magazine

A NEWCASTLE cafe has announced a new addition to its menu: a space that swaps muffins for movies.

The Claremont Teahouse on Eldon Place is famous for its homemade baked goods and huge selection of exotic and international teas.

And now it has introduced a secret cinema space, designed to host all types of corporate and private events, from presentations to parties.

The space, which can easily accommodate up to 16 delegates, colleagues or guests, is fully self-contained, with a large cinema screen for showing films, home videos or PowerPoint presentations.

The Teahouse catering team can also provide a wide range of beverages, from their extensive range of teas to wines, beers and prosecco.

And you can also work with event planners to create custom menus tailored to your preferences, ranging from hors d’oeuvres to classic movie-style hot dogs, nachos and popcorn, via your on-site kitchen.

Additionally, those wishing to hold a larger event can rent out the entire lower floor of the venue.

The Claremont Teahouse is part of Northern Bar Management’s portfolio of establishments, which also includes the renowned Northumberland Arms in Felton, along with Osters and Lovage in Gosforth, Jesmond, both of which feature in the prestigious Michelin Guide.

This is the company’s first venture into the film world and owner Stuart Young said the aim is to provide “an intimate, personalised and unparalleled event experience.

“Secret Cinema’s size and city centre location are ideal for those looking for a truly bespoke event – from christenings or birthday parties to something more corporate, but still with a totally personal touch.”

Hire costs start from £200, with the venue happy to create bespoke packages. For more information, email [email protected] or visit www.claremontteahouse.com
