The club have yet to make contact with Leeds United – The plan to sign the Whites player is not progressing quickly

On Monday, L’Equipe reported that Stade Rennais are looking to sign Leeds United’s Glen Kamara in the summer.

Tuesday’s edition of Ouest-France reports L’Equipe’s claim and then gives its own take on the Ligue 1 side’s interest in the Leeds player.

On June 10, Stade Rennais appointed Frederic Massara as their new sporting director. The Italian has already begun working behind the scenes to reshape the current squad.

The director has been in close contact with Stade Rennais president Olivier Cloarec and first-team manager Julien Stéphan in recent weeks, and the report claims they have made progress in strengthening the defence.

Kamara appears to be high on the French club’s list of midfield targets as his profile fits what they are looking for in the market. Despite this, the newspaper claims that Stade Rennais have not made any direct contact with Leeds so far for the 27-year-old.

In short, Stade Rennais are interested in the Whites player, but their plan to sign him is not progressing quickly enough.

The Finn’s contract runs until 2027, which would give the Championship side an advantage during potential negotiations with Stade Rennais this summer.
