Chelsea complete fourth summer signing as Leicester midfielder arrives in £30m deal

The 25-year-old has joined the Blues in a deal worth £30million, signing a five-year contract.

The English footballer expressed his delight at joining the west London side, saying it was “a privilege” to be at the club.

He said: “It’s amazing to be here as a Chelsea player.

“This is a club that people grow up watching and hoping to one day play for, so it’s a privilege to be here.

“I’m really excited to get started and can’t wait to show everyone what I can do.”

Dewberry-Hall was a key member of Leicester’s first-team squad last season as they won the Championship title and immediately returned to the Premier League.

The midfielder played in 44 league games, scoring 12 goals and providing 14 assists.

His future in the Midlands has remained a source of speculation throughout the summer, despite being under contract with the Foxes until 2027.

The England footballer looked set to join Brighton & Hove Albion at one point after they completed a swap deal involving Jakub Moder.

But the move ended up failing and that allowed Chelsea to sign him.

The Blues have been very busy in the ongoing summer transfer window. They brought in defender Tosin Adarabioyo on a free transfer and also secured a £19m deal for Omari Kellyman.

Meanwhile, Marc Guiu also arrived from Barcelona in a £5million transfer on Monday.

Chelsea have parted company with Mauricio Pochettino and appointed Enzo Maresca as their manager.

Maresca is relatively inexperienced but is expected to secure a Champions League spot next season.
