Primark opens in-store Lion King cafe in Manchester with milkshakes, bubble teas and more

Lion King fans are in for a treat at Primark in Manchester after the company opened a new Lion King cafe.

It’s part of Disney’s celebrations of the film’s 30th anniversary, in collaboration with the retailer, which will also see products featuring its main characters in store in the coming weeks.

The themed cafe has opened inside the Market Street store, promising to transport customers “to the Pride Lands” with a menu that includes things like barbecued chicken wings, nachos and hot dogs, as well as waffles, milkshakes, smoothies, bubble tea and more. For little ones, you can purchase a Kids Lunch Box for £4.95, which includes a wrap, snack, piece of fruit and a drink.

The retailer is becoming known for its themed cafes, having launched ones based on The Grinch, Disney’s Lilo & Stitch and Hello Kitty.

Earlier today, we reported that a new SpongeBob cafe has also opened inside the Trafford Palazzo branch.

Primark’s new business development director Tim Kelly said: “So far we’ve seen an incredible response from customers to our rotating café themes, so we’re delighted to reveal the next chapter with Simba and Nala taking centre stage.

“At Primark, we’re always looking for ways to bring unrivalled in-store experiences to our customers and give them more reasons to visit their local store. We hope our customers in Manchester love our latest offering and keep an eye out for our next rotating theme later this year.”

The Lion King cafe is open in Primark stores in Manchester Market Street, Edinburgh and Cardiff until August, and in Merryhill and Belfast until October.
