Horse Racing Tips: Nap of the Day

Ben Linfoot offers Wednesday’s best bets from the track with his Nap in action at Thirsk.

JEHANGEER – 4.55 Thirsk (NAP)

By Kevin Ryan JEHANGEER can appreciate the drop in grades in the Weatherbys Global Stallions App Handicap at Thirsk. The three-year-old has had a wind operation and has been gelded since he was last seen running well in a Class 2 at Newmarket in May behind Woodhay Wonder, and after just five career starts he will be expected to improve.

PURPLE MARTINI – 3.30 Musselburgh

Ben Haslam Shipyard continues in good shape and PURPLE MARTINI Mayson may bounce back to form in the Join Racing TV Now Handicap over seven furlongs at Musselburgh. The Mayson filly blew up at Redcar last time out but she has had time to recover from that and her record at this track is very good, having won here in 60 and finished second in 59. A mark of 58 gives her an obvious chance here.

MR. WAGYU – 7.25 Epsom

By John and Sean Quinn MR WAGYU has confirmed that he is not far from being as good as ever as a nine-year-old when he was second at this track on Derby day and can claim another win over the field in the Betfred Nifty 50 Handicap. There is no doubt that he is still well underpowered at 92 and these calmer waters look the ideal opportunity for him to earn his 16th career win in total at a track he loves.
