HG appointed to 37-storey Manchester PBSA Scheme

One Medlock Street to be 37 stories tall

One Medlock Street will feature 1,014 student bedrooms across 37 floors, with access to leisure areas on the ground, first, 11th and 37th floors.º floors.

The £200 million project will have 13,000 square feet of amenities for residents, including a gym, yoga studio, quiet study areas, meeting spaces, screening rooms, shared lounges and games rooms.

Greystar completed its purchase of the former Deansgate Locks Premier Inn from Whitbread last week. Specialist developer Dominus obtained planning consent on Whitbread’s behalf for the redevelopment of One Medlock Street and enabled the transaction.

The development, designed by John Matthews Architects, will incorporate sustainability features including a living green roof, photovoltaic solar panels and sustainable materials. Plans also include an 11-story public art installation made of 30 precast panels.

HG Construction will deliver the concrete structure and piles for the project in-house, which is scheduled for completion in 2028.
